Quantum Epitaxial Devices Ltd. is a spin out company from Lancaster University Physics Department. QED has expertise in the development of mid-infrared LEDs, lasers and photodetectors. These are key components for gas sensor and process monitoring instrument manufacturers and their users.


The mid-infrared spectral region is of enormous interest as the practical realisation of  optoelectronic devices operating in the 2-10 µm wavelength range offers potential applications in a wide variety of areas.
